Fox's Den Lodge Budd Car Train

There are only two places left in North America where a train stops and picks
people up or drops people off at various points out in the wilderness and the
Budd car train that runs by our lodge in one of them. The Budd car is a two-car
train with internal engines. A locomotive does not pull it. The Budd Train
picks-up and drops-off people at remote settlements, lodges, outpost camps and
remote trapping lines, which are are away from any roads.
This unique train travels between Sudbury and White River on alternate days. The train passes the lodge heading west on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
at around 4:00 pm. It's a 15 minute trip from Missanabie. On Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays the train leaves from
White River and heading East ad this is a 1 3/4 hr trip This two car train can be caught much like taking a taxi cab. You stand by the tracks
and when you see the train coming raise your arm and they'll stop for you. They'll then ask you where you want off
and charge a very small fee, it's that easy!
